Who Am I ?

Why Did you Chose to Study on this Program?

I chose to Study Animation at Leeds College of Art, because I did my foundation in the institute, I knew the quality of teaching is of a high standard and it's close to home.

What do you want to learn during your time on the Program?
I'd really like to learn more about armatures and rigging.

What Skills do you think are your Strengths?
I think my strongest skills lie in traditional work, I think I'm handy at being able to utilise materials and make things out of very little. I also think I have excellent storyboarding skills.

What are the things that you want to improve?
I would like to improve my use of the computer especially the editing process general using a computer to animate. I would also like to own one.

In what ways will you evaluate your progress?
By comparing myself to other people on my course and other people on other courses.

Three Interesting Highlights off my Twitter Feed Today

1. Felt Mistress

Felt mistress has posted a link to what's in store at her first exhibition in Wales at the Millenium Centre in Cardiff. I love these character's because they have such great appeal, they are so fun and well made.

2. James Curran: Trick (Slimjimsudio's)

Check out this short halloween related animation, playing with the characters of PacMan, this is fun and inspiring as it's a new way of seeing things. It is also successful because it says a lot in a short space of time.

3. LIAF 2013 Flipbook Challenge, The Slip Up by Alistair Stuart.

This short flipbook caught my eye because of it's ingenuity. It stays clever whilst remaining simple. Also it has a element of fun and lightheardness which makes it appealing.

Importance of Twitter

Twitter is a Social Media Network that is very important to the upcoming professional no matter what career you're in, it can bring in updates from competitors and collegues and inform the self employed on what is going on out there already. Not only is it useful for informing me on what other animators and studio's are up to it can also tell me what's going on through current events, world affairs, one of my favourite organisation of mine that I follow is Greenpeace. I really enjoy reading snippets on melting polar caps. The shortness of each tweet allows the browser to take in a lot of brief information and allows you to either ignore it or opt to click a link and read more. It's really good to scan fast through information.

Not only can you pull in information, but also it's really good to broadcast latest information on yourself and you can get really good two way communication through the medium of twitter. I've had an account for a few years and I go through phases with it, it's really good that you can leave it for a few days and you don't have to stream through what you've missed you can just skip it to the most recent stuff, which i find particularly useful.
