Studio's in Yorkshire

I'm quite Yorkshire born and bred, It's God's County, it's where I want to grow old. I think it's economic hub is huge I don't know definite statistics but I bet for our population ratio as a county we are so hardworking we give London a run for it's money. However in the animation department I don't even know what we have going on, I know film and TV wise it's pretty huge, with Emmerdale, Screen Yorkshire, NMM, we are a hub of live action. Therefore I decided that I should just spend some time seeing what's actually going on in our county. God's County. Of Happiness.

As a country, let alone a county. I think our studios are quite weak compared to whats out there, besides the big wigs in California, I think theres some international studios that have world class websites and just look world class. Such as Mecanique Generale in paris there's a whole host of french studio's that blow my mind, some how they just all manage to scream class. And there's Shy The Sun which I previously looked at in a different module which although the work isn't as good as Studio AKA the website showcases it in a way that makes it feel more premium. I also don't think Aardman's new website is worldclass standard it's just like college's new website. I have also recently found a whole hub on animation studio's in New Zealand, which will come in a seperate post that also feel more premium.

In my opinion this is a growing industry and I reckon that in the next decade there's going to be a massive shift in what's in Leeds. I think partially this might be down to the fact that to make money out of animation it's easier to go commercial and provide brand identity's and do a job lot for a company. I think being northern as a stereotype we aren't flashy people and as managers of local companies we don't want to spend millions on flashy brand identity's if we can make it ourselves we will do that. But as money grows for it for entertainment I think you'll see this industry growing in our area.
